Season Favorites at Beauty & Soul

This fall and winter, natural fabrics that show ease and comfort are making a comeback. Earthy colors such as orange, green, and brown (and all shades of these colors) are hugely popular. To me, this is wonderful news! I have always loved big, chunky, natural fabric sweaters in the fall and winter, as well as comfortable and relaxed bottoms. Fashion should never be about sacrificing comfort, and this season gives us all a chance to recognize and make the most of this!

Here are some of my favorite items for the upcoming months!

1. The red coat. Always a classic, the red wool (or other warm fabric) coat is livelier than black, and adds flair to your fall wardrobe. Pair with black pants, jeans, a suit...Almost anything!

2. Oranges, golds, and greens...These are the colors of fall! Look for sweaters in autumn shades in a variety of textures and fabrics. If earth tones aren't for you, red's and purples also look beautiful right now.

3. Corduroy pants. They are back, and a nice, comfortable change from your favorite jeans. Choose a shade like black or tan that will work with items you already have in your wardrobe.

4. Houndstooth, leopard, or tartan prints. A houndstooth or pleated tartan print skirt (or jacket) looks great this fall, but be careful not to go overboard. Pair one of these patterned items with a neutral top or bottom, for a fashionable yet put together look.

5. Shoes? Mock Croc and snake print loafers and heels are very big! Comfort inspired loafers are still making a hit (I love these) in new shades such as deep green, red, and brown. Tall boots with a flat, rubber sole are something brand new...Very comfortable, these boots look best with a short, patterned skirt.

6. Accessories:

*Think Gold. Large gold hoops are making a reappearance, and work wonderfully from day to evening. Gold chain belts and necklaces are also very popular. To avoid overdoing it, choose only one "gold" item to accessorize your look.

* The handle bag. This classic bag looks great this fall in red or black mock croc, or even a bold pattern with both colors.
