Inner Beauty:
Achieving Radiant Beauty, From The Inside-Out!
We all know that we can use make-up, hair color, or buy expensive clothing, it's useless unless we feel wonderful on the inside -- without that "inner glow", no amount of make-up or external fixes can make us beautiful.
While we can't all be born physically perfect (no one is, btw), we can BECOME truly beautiful by developing self-esteem and taking care of ourselves, thereby bringing forth the kind of beauty that just can't be purchased in a bottle.
Tips for Developing the "Inner" You
- Eat well. This means lots of fruits and veggies and plenty of clean water.
- Get plenty of rest. Nothing saps health and beauty like being underslept. Your eyes shine, skin is clear, and mood is bright with enough rest. If that isn't enough, it also helps keep weight off by reducing cortisol levels!
- Focus on the things you like about yourself. Got great eyes? Play them up! Beautiful hands? Keep them well manicured. Lovely lips? Make sure to always wear a little gloss.
- Develop your interests and hobbies. Have you always wanted to paint? Take an art class. Are you a good dancer? Try lessons. A great athlete? Join a team.
- Take some time and think about what it is you'd like to accomplish. Then take a step every day towards your goal. For example: You've always dreamed of being a writer? Write down the steps you will need to take to accomplish your goal, ie.
1. Make the time to write. Schedule it. Do it for a set period of time, every day.
2. Take a class to help you brush up on your skills.
3. Subscribe to newsletters or journals that encourage and keep you motivated.
4. Talk with experts and listen to their advice, etc.
5. Show your work! (The internet makes this so easy!)
- Take time for others. Nothing makes us feel better about ourselves than lending a helping hand. Cook a meal for a friend in need, volunteer at an animal shelter or retirement center. You'll be amazed how helping others helps yourself!
- Keep a journal. Write down your daily thoughts and feelings. You will learn so much about yourself just by noticing what's going on in your life.
- Listen to your body. Everyone has a different internal "schedule".
Eat when you're hungry, sleep when you're tired.
- Smile :) People are attracted to those who are happy!
